Empliciti 400 mg

Empliciti (elotuzumab) is a medication used in combination with lenalidomide and dexamethasone in the treatment of multiple myeloma in patients who have previously received one to three treatments.

The active ingredient in Empliciti is elotuzumab, a monoclonal antibody that activates the body's immune cells to attack multiple myeloma cancer cells. It achieves this by binding to a protein on the surface of immune cells called SLAMF7, leading them to act against cancer cells and thereby slowing down the progression of the disease. Elotuzumab also binds to SLAMF7 on cancer cells, making them more vulnerable to attacks by immune cells.
