REBLOZYL is a white to off-white powder for injection. It is presented in glass vials containing 75 mg of luspatercept. Each package includes 1 vial.
REBLOZYL is used in the following conditions:
Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS)
Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) comprise a group of disorders involving various abnormalities in blood and bone marrow.
- Red blood cells (erythrocytes) become abnormal and do not mature as needed.
- Patients may experience various symptoms and signs, including low red blood cell count (anemia), and may require red blood cell transfusions.
REBLOZYL is used in adults who have anemia caused by Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) and require red blood cell transfusion (erythrocyte transfusion). It is used in adults who have undergone erythropoietin therapy or are ineligible for erythropoietin treatment.
Beta Thalassemia
Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder.
- It affects the production of hemoglobin (a protein containing iron that carries oxygen necessary for tissues) in red blood cells.
- Patients may experience various symptoms and signs, including low red blood cell count (anemia), and may require red blood cell transfusions.
REBLOZYL is used in the treatment of anemia in adults with beta thalassemia, whether or not they require regular red blood cell transfusions.
